Grayson Rams Linebackers: Master the 'Shuttle-Box Drill' for Superior Speed and Agility
As the Grayson Rams prepare for another dominant 7A season, linebackers must possess elite speed and agility to excel in the open field. The 'Shuttle-Box Drill' is a game-changing workout that targets these critical skills. Set up three boxes or cones, 10 yards apart, with a fourth box 20 yards away. Players start at box 1, then shuttle to box 2, box 3, and finally box 4. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues: 'Quick feet, fast hands!' and 'Change direction, not speed!' This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time, acceleration, and deceleration. By mastering the Shuttle-Box Drill, Grayson Rams linebackers will be better equipped to tackle ballcarriers in space and make game-changing plays.
