Elevate Your Game: Collins Hill Eagles' Linebacker Drill
This summer, Collins Hill Eagles linebackers can take their game to the next level with the 'Shuttle and Hit' drill. This high-intensity exercise targets speed, agility, and tackling ability. Set up four cones in a square formation, with two cones 5 yards apart and two cones 10 yards apart. Start with 3 sets of 10 reps. Have the linebacker shuttle between the two cones, then immediately close the distance to hit a tackling pad or a teammate. Coaching cues: 'Fast feet, fast hands!' and 'Close the distance!' This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time, acceleration, and tackling efficiency.
