FridayNightPulse Training Tip: LB Agility Ladder Drill for Milton Eagles

๐Ÿ“ Milton EaglesยทTuesday, July 21, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, 7A powerhouse Milton Eagles linebackers can improve their speed, agility, and reaction time with a simple yet effective drill. The LB Agility Ladder Drill consists of three stations: lateral shuffles, carioca drills, and backward runs. Set up three agility ladders 5 yards apart. For lateral shuffles, have players start in a split stance, then shuffle their feet through the ladder, focusing on quick footwork and keeping their knees bent. Move to carioca drills, where players weave through the ladder with a high-knees motion. Finally, have players run backward through the ladder, emphasizing proper footwork and body control. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps at each station, 2-3 times a week. This drill translates to game performance by improving LBs' ability to quickly change direction and close gaps, increasing their overall effectiveness on the field.
