Summer Sprints for Tight Ends: Benedictine Cadets' Pre-Season Prep

๐Ÿ“ Benedictine CadetsยทThursday, July 30, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the Benedictine Cadets prepare for another 4A showdown, their tight ends are focusing on a crucial drill to improve their speed and agility. The 'Tight End Shuttle' involves three 10-yard cones in a zig-zag pattern. Players start at one end, sprint to the first cone, change direction, sprint to the second cone, change direction again, and finish at the third cone. Coaches cue: 'Fast feet, quick cuts!' Players complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time and allowing TEs to quickly release from blocks and get open downfield. By incorporating this drill into their pre-season workout, Cadets' TEs will be ready to make big plays in the fall.
