S Players Shine with Speed and Agility Drill at Kahuku Red Raiders Open
The Kahuku Red Raiders are gearing up for another dominant season, and their S players are getting a head start with a speed and agility drill designed to improve their reaction time and quickness. The drill, called 'Shuttle Sprints,' involves setting up two cones 10 yards apart, with a third cone 5 yards beyond the second. S players start at the first cone, then sprint to the second, change direction, and sprint back to the first. They repeat this process for 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'Fast feet, quick hands' and 'Change direction, don't change speed.' This drill translates to game performance by improving S players' ability to quickly close gaps and cover receivers in man-to-man coverage.
