FridayNightPulse: Southeast Polk Rams CB Drill for 4A Success

๐Ÿ“ Southeast Polk RamsยทWednesday, July 1, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

To improve their press coverage skills, Southeast Polk Rams cornerbacks can try the 'Shadow and Reel' drill. This drill involves a defender shadowing a receiver at 5 yards, then transitioning to a 10-yard reeling position. Set up 3-4 stations with cones. Have the defender start in the shadow position, then sprint to the reeling position after the receiver releases. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Coaching cues include: 'Stay low and balanced' in the shadow position, and 'Extend your arms and drive to the ball' in the reeling position. This drill translates to game performance by improving the defender's ability to quickly close on receivers and make plays on the ball.
