Rams Rush: 4A DEs, Get Ready for the 'Swim Move' Drill

๐Ÿ“ Southeast Polk RamsยทSaturday, July 18, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Southeast Polk Rams defensive ends can expect to see a new drill added to their training regimen: the 'Swim Move.' The goal of this drill is to improve DEs' ability to quickly change direction and maintain speed while pursuing the quarterback. To run the drill, set up a series of cones in a zig-zag pattern. Have DEs start at one end of the course and perform a 10-yard sprint to the first cone, then immediately change direction and swim through the remaining cones. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'keep your eyes on the cone' and 'stay low and explosive.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing DEs to quickly close gaps and make plays on the quarterback.
