Iowa City West Trojans flag football standout, junior Emily Johnson, has garnered verified interest from the University of Nebraska and several NAIA programs. Johnson, a versatile athlete, has been training at the school's summer flag football camp and has impressed coaches with her skills. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is set to launch its inaugural NCAA Division 1 flag football program in 2028. Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, have also expressed interest in Johnson's abilities. Midland University, Nebraska, has also been actively recruiting Johnson. To further her opportunities, Johnson is encouraged to attend the University of Nebraska's upcoming flag football camp and to reach out to the NAIA programs directly to inquire about their scholarship processes.
