Austin White Commits to University of Houston
The University of Houston has received a commitment from Austin White, a safety from Dowling Catholic High School in Des Moines, Iowa. White, a Class of 2025 prospect, chose the Cougars over other Power Five offers. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound athlete is expected to fit into Houston's defensive scheme, which emphasizes speed and athleticism. White will look to compete for a starting spot in the secondary, where the Cougars are rebuilding after losing several key players to graduation. Dowling Catholic's athletic department notes that White's commitment is a testament to the school's strong academic program, which has earned a 94% graduation rate. White was previously committed to the University of Nebraska but decommitted in April after the Cornhuskers' coaching staff changes. He will officially join the Cougars in the fall of 2025.
