As the inaugural 2028 season approaches, the University of Nebraska's Power 4 flag football program is generating buzz among multisport female athletes in Iowa. For Southeast Polk Rams' standout, Emily Wilson, the opportunity to join the Cornhuskers' roster under coaches Liz and Katie Sowers is a game-changer. A decorated track and field athlete, Wilson is pivoting to flag football to capitalize on the growing scholarship landscape. Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, also offer NAIA flag football scholarships, with Ottawa University's program boasting up to 12 available spots. Midland University, Nebraska, is another active recruiter. Wilson can explore these options by attending summer camps and reaching out to coaches directly. With UT Arlington's NCAA D1 program still in development, Wilson's focus remains on securing a spot at one of these verified scholarship programs.
