As IHSAA's flag football pilot program expands to new districts, Texas athletes are taking notice of the growing scholarship landscape. The University of Nebraska, set to launch its inaugural 2028 season, is a Power 4 program with a commitment to flag football. Coaches Liz and Katie Sowers are actively recruiting top talent. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse, offers up to 12 scholarships. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also active recruiters. Meanwhile, UT Arlington is developing its program. Iowa City West Trojans, a 4A powerhouse from Iowa, will face stiff competition from Texas recruits. Athletes interested in flag football scholarships should research these programs and reach out to coaches directly. A strong summer camp performance can make a lasting impression.
