Austin Taylor Commits to UTSA
Dowling Catholic Maroons quarterback Austin Taylor has committed to the University of Texas at San Antonio. The Class of 2025 signal-caller chose the Roadrunners over other Division I offers, citing a strong fit in UTSA's high-powered offense. Taylor believes his skills will translate well to the system, which features a similar spread attack to what he's been running in high school. He also sees an opportunity to compete for playing time immediately, with a thin quarterback depth chart ahead of him. Additionally, Taylor was drawn to UTSA's strong academic program, which offers a range of business and engineering courses. Taylor decommitted from Western Illinois in April, but says he's been in contact with the UTSA coaching staff for several months. He plans to sign a National Letter of Intent in the coming weeks.
