Darius Taylor Commits to Kansas State
Mountain View Mavericks tight end Darius Taylor has committed to Kansas State University. The 5A senior, rated three-star prospect, chose the Wildcats over offers from Illinois, Iowa State and Western Michigan. Taylor's commitment was a long-time coming, as he initially pledged to Kansas State in May 2023, only to decommit in August 2024. He rejoined the Wildcats' recruiting class in March 2026. Kansas State's pro-style offense, which features a strong emphasis on tight end play, aligns with Taylor's skillset. The Wildcats' depth chart at tight end appears to be wide open, providing Taylor with an opportunity to contribute immediately. Kansas State's academic program, which is consistently ranked among the nation's best, was also a major factor in Taylor's decision. Taylor's commitment brings the total number of Kansas State commits from the Mountain View Mavericks to two, joining teammate and quarterback, Tyler Jenkins, who pledged to the Wildcats in February 2026.
