Sprint and Shuffle Drill for 4A S Players: Boosting Speed and Agility

๐Ÿ“ Twin Falls BruinsยทFriday, July 24, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

In preparation for the upcoming 4A season, S players at Twin Falls Bruins and other top programs can benefit from the Sprint and Shuffle drill. This high-intensity exercise targets speed, agility, and reaction time, essential skills for success on the field. To run this drill, set up a 20-yard sprint zone, followed by a 10-yard shuttle area. S players will sprint 20 yards, then immediately transition into a shuttle run, shuffling their feet to change direction. Perform 3 sets of 5 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Coaching cues include: 'Fast feet, quick turns!' and 'Keep your eyes up, stay focused!' This drill translates to game performance by improving S players' ability to quickly close gaps and change direction on the field, making them more effective tacklers and ball carriers.
