Speed and Agility Drills for S Players: Loyola Academy Ramblers Training Tip

๐Ÿ“ Loyola Academy RamblersยทSaturday, July 4, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

For S players at 8A programs like Loyola Academy Ramblers, speed and agility drills are crucial for success on the field. One effective drill is the 'L-Drill'. Set up four cones in an L-shape, with the player starting at the bottom of the L. The coach calls out 'left' or 'right' and the player must quickly change direction, running to the cone on the opposite side of the L. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps on each side, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'stay low' and 'keep your eyes up'. This drill translates to game performance by improving the player's ability to quickly change direction and accelerate out of cuts, a key skill for S players. By incorporating the L-Drill into their training, S players can gain a competitive edge on the field.
