Building a Brick Wall: St. Rita's OL Drill for Dominance

๐Ÿ“ St. Rita MustangsยทSunday, July 5, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the St. Rita Mustangs prepare for another 7A title run, their linemen are putting in the work to become an impenetrable force. One key drill in their offseason program is the 'Brick Wall' block-shed drill. Players start in a three-point stance, then explosively drive forward, aiming to knock over a series of cones spaced 5 yards apart. Coaches cue players to 'bend the knee, not the back,' and to 'keep their eyes on the target.' The goal is to maintain a low center of gravity and generate power from the legs. This drill translates to game performance by improving linemen's ability to drive block and create seams for their running backs. Run this drill 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets, and watch your OL take their game to the next level.
