Caleb Jackson Commits to University of Houston

Loyola Academy senior safety Caleb Jackson has committed to play football at the University of Houston, the school announced Friday. Jackson, a Class of 2027 prospect, chose the Cougars over offers from several other Power Five programs. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety is expected to fit into Houston's defensive scheme, which emphasizes speed and athleticism. Jackson will have the opportunity to compete for a starting spot in the secondary, where the Cougars are looking to rebuild after losing key players to graduation. Academically, Jackson was drawn to Houston's strong business program, which aligns with his academic interests. He had previously committed to another program but reopened his recruitment in April. Jackson is considered one of the top safeties in the state of Illinois, earning All-State honors as a junior. He is expected to enroll at Houston in the fall of 2027.
