SMU Lands Commitment from Westfield QB Malik Jackson
Malik Jackson, a Class of 2026 quarterback from Westfield High School, has committed to play for the SMU Mustangs. The 5A standout chose SMU over other major programs, citing the team's up-tempo offense as a key factor in his decision. Jackson believes his skills will thrive in the Mustangs' system, which emphasizes quick decision-making and precision passing. He also noted the opportunity to compete for the starting job immediately, given the current depth chart. Additionally, Jackson was drawn to SMU's strong academic program, which he believes will provide him with a solid foundation for his future. Jackson had previously considered other Power Five programs, but ultimately decided that SMU offered the best fit for his athletic and academic goals. He is expected to enroll at SMU in the fall of 2027.
