Kicking into Gear: Carmel Greyhounds' 6A Kicking Drill

๐Ÿ“ Carmel GreyhoundsยทFriday, July 10, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the 2026 season approaches, the Carmel Greyhounds' kicking unit is gearing up for a strong year. One key drill that will help their kickers improve their accuracy and power is the 'Drop Step Drill.' This drill targets the kickers' ability to maintain balance and generate force on contact. To set up the drill, have the kicker stand 20 yards from a target, with a drop step (one foot back) and a plant foot forward. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, focusing on a smooth, controlled motion. Coaching cues include 'balance, plant, and strike.' This drill translates to game performance by helping kickers develop the necessary balance and force to drive the ball through the uprights.
