Cathedral Fighting Irish Break Ground on $1M Facility Upgrade

The Cathedral Fighting Irish, a perennial powerhouse in 5A Indianapolis, marked a major milestone Friday with the groundbreaking of a $1 million facility upgrade. The project, which includes renovations to the locker room, weight room and training facilities, is expected to be completed in time for the start of the 2026 season. The upgrade comes on the heels of a 9-3 record last fall and a second-place finish in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference. The Fighting Irish have consistently been one of the top recruiting programs in the state, and the new facilities are expected to give them a competitive edge in attracting top talent. With the upgrade, Cathedral is poised to remain a force to be reckoned with in 5A football.
