Westfield Shamrocks Flag Football Prospects Eye Nebraska's 2028 Inaugural Season
As the University of Nebraska prepares to launch its inaugural NCAA Division 1 flag football season in 2028, Westfield Shamrocks prospects are taking notice. Coached by the dynamic duo of Liz and Katie Sowers, the Cornhuskers are expected to be a major player in the Big Ten. For Westfield athletes, this means a new opportunity to compete at the highest level. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse with up to 12 NAIA scholarships, remains a top choice for many flag football players. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also active recruiters. Meanwhile, UT Arlington is developing its program, but has not yet begun offering scholarships. Westfield prospects looking to capitalize on Nebraska's new program should focus on building relationships with coaches Liz and Katie Sowers and developing their skills through summer camps and highlight tapes.
