Center Grove Trojans OL Summer Drills: Building a Stronger Wall

๐Ÿ“ Center Grove TrojansยทMonday, July 20, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the Center Grove Trojans prepare for the upcoming 6A season, their OL coaches are focusing on building a stronger wall through a specific drill. The 'Boulder Lift' drill targets the OL's ability to generate power and speed off the line of scrimmage. Coaches will have OL players pair up, with one player in a pass-blocking stance and the other player holding a heavy medicine ball (30-40 lbs). The player with the medicine ball will drive forward, forcing the blocker to react and generate power. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Coaching cues include 'Drive your feet' and 'Extend your arms.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the OL's ability to quickly react to defensive linemen and generate power to move them off the line. It's a critical skill for 6A programs like the Trojans, where speed and strength are essential for success.
