Blue Valley Northwest Huskies OL Drill: Building a Stronger Foundation

๐Ÿ“ Blue Valley Northwest HuskiesยทWednesday, July 1, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, the Blue Valley Northwest Huskies' coaching staff is focusing on building a stronger foundation for their 6A OL players through a specific drill that targets footwork and hand placement. The 'Husky Shuffle' drill involves players shuffling 5 yards laterally while maintaining a tight, inside shoulder position and keeping their hands in a 'pocket' position. They will then perform a 3-point stance, exploding into a pass block, and recovering back to the shuffle position. Coaches will provide cues such as 'shoulder to shoulder' and 'hands in the pocket' to emphasize proper form. This drill translates to game performance by improving OL players' ability to quickly change direction and maintain a strong pass block. Aim for 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets.
