Derby's Darius Harris: A Force to be Reckoned With
Derby Panthers linebacker Darius Harris made an immediate impact in his first season with the 6A program, racking up 12 tackles for loss in just eight games. The Class of 2026 standout transferred from out-of-state, but quickly earned a starting role under the guidance of Panthers head coach. Harris's impressive speed and agility allowed him to consistently pressure the quarterback, and his instincts proved invaluable in reading the opposing offense. As a newcomer to the KSHSAA, Harris has already begun to make a name for himself, drawing attention from college scouts. With his size, athleticism, and production, Harris is a player to watch in the upcoming season. College scouts will be keeping a close eye on Harris's ability to read and react to the opposing offense, as well as his potential to develop a more polished pass-rushing technique. His progress will be closely monitored as the season approaches.
