Free State Hires Strength Coach Ahead of Camp
Lawrence Free State High School has hired Tyler Jenkins as its new strength and conditioning coordinator, the program announced Thursday. Jenkins brings 10 years of experience working with high school and college athletes, including a stint as a strength coach at the University of Kansas. The Firebirds, who finished 5-5 in 6A last season, are looking to improve their overall strength and athleticism in preparation for the upcoming season. The hire is seen as a key move in the program's efforts to stay competitive in the Sunflower League, which features perennial powerhouses like Olathe North and Blue Valley North. Jenkins will work closely with head coach Bob Lisher to develop a strength and conditioning program that will help the Firebirds build on their recent progress.
