Building a Stronger St. Xavier Tiger: The 3-Box Drill
As the St. Xavier Tigers prepare for another dominant season, Coach Mike offers a drill to improve power and agility in their 6A program. The 3-Box Drill targets explosive acceleration and deceleration. Set up three boxes or cones 5 yards apart. Players start at the first box, then sprint to the second box, immediately changing direction to decelerate and accelerate through the third box. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues: 'Quick feet, quick hands' for acceleration, and 'Slow down, then launch' for deceleration.
