Boyle County Rebels' Flag Football Talent Poised for National Opportunities
As the KHSAA's flag football pilot district expansion creates new pathways for Texas athletes, the Boyle County Rebels are capitalizing on the trend. Inaugural NCAA Division 1 Power 4 school University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is set to launch its flag football program in 2028. The Rebels' strong program has caught the attention of Nebraska's coaches, who are actively recruiting top talent from the Bluegrass State. Additionally, NAIA powerhouses Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, offer up to 12 scholarships and are actively recruiting athletes. Midland University, Nebraska, also has a strong recruiting presence. While UT Arlington's program is still in development, the Rebels' focus on flag football development positions them for potential opportunities in the future. Athletes interested in exploring these scholarship pathways should contact University of Nebraska, Ottawa University, Keiser University, or Midland University directly to learn more about their recruitment processes and eligibility requirements.
