Cameron Young Commits to Baylor
Trinity Shamrocks safety Cameron Young has committed to Baylor University, the school announced Tuesday. Young, a Class of 2027 standout, chose the Big 12 program over offers from several other Power Five schools. At 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, Young brings a physical presence to the Baylor secondary. He is expected to compete for playing time immediately, given the Bears' need for depth at safety. Baylor's 3-4 scheme should also suit Young's skillset, which includes a strong tackling ability and ball-hawking instincts. The Shamrocks' safety is also drawn to Baylor's strong academic programs, which will provide him with a well-rounded education. Young had previously committed to Louisville in 2024 but decommitted in January to explore other options. He is considered one of the top safeties in the Class of 2027.
