Tiger Tough: St. Xavier OL Drill to Dominate the Line

๐Ÿ“ St. Xavier TigersยทTuesday, July 21, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This week, St. Xavier Tigers OL coach, John Smith, shared a game-changing drill to improve foot speed and agility in the trenches. The 'Tiger Trot' drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then quickly explode into a sprint, changing direction 90 degrees to the left and right. Focus on proper footwork and keeping the knees bent. Coaching cues include 'Tiger Trot, Tiger Trot' and 'Fast, fast, fast!' to emphasize speed and agility. This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time and allowing OL to quickly react to defensive linemen. It's a must-include in your pre-season training regimen.
