Covington Catholic Colonels Break Ground on $1M Facility Upgrade

The Covington Catholic Colonels, a 5A program from Park Hills, Ky., officially broke ground on a $1 million facility upgrade Friday. The Colonels finished 2022 with a 9-4 record, advancing to the state semifinals. The new facilities will include a state-of-the-art weight room, expanded locker rooms and a renovated fieldhouse. The upgrade is expected to give the Colonels a recruiting edge, particularly in attracting top linemen and skill players. With the KHSAA's recent realignment, the Colonels will face increased competition from neighboring programs in the 5A classification. The Colonels' coaching staff is optimistic the new facilities will provide a competitive advantage and help the team contend for a state title in the coming seasons.
