Rebel Receiver Rampage: A Boyle County WR Drill for Summer Camp
This drill is designed to improve the quickness and separation of wide receivers at 4A programs like Boyle County. The 'Rampage' drill involves three stations: a 5-yard cone run, a 10-yard lateral catch, and a 15-yard deep route. Set up the cones in a zig-zag pattern and have receivers start at the 5-yard mark. On the coach's signal, they must weave through the cones and then immediately cut to the left to catch the lateral. After catching the lateral, they must sprint to the 15-yard mark and run a deep route to the corner of the end zone. Perform 3 sets of 5 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'eyes on the ball.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a receiver's ability to create separation and make plays in space.
