CB Cade Smith Commits to Navy for 2027 Class
Edna Karr Cougars cornerback Cade Smith has committed to the United States Naval Academy for the 2027 class. The 6-foot, 180-pound athlete chose Navy for its athletic fit within the Midshipmen's 4-3 defensive scheme, where he can utilize his ball-hawking skills and press-man coverage techniques. Smith is expected to compete for a starting cornerback position, potentially opposite of returning starter, junior CB Tyler Jenkins. Additionally, Navy's rigorous academic program aligns with Smith's academic goals, as he maintains a 3.5 GPA. Smith had previously considered offers from Tulane and Louisiana Tech, but ultimately chose the Naval Academy for its strong athletic and academic reputation. This commitment marks the first for the Cougars in the 2027 class. Smith will report to Navy's summer camp in July 2027.
