FridayNightPulse Training Tip: LB Stance and Agility Drill for 4A Programs

๐Ÿ“ John Curtis PatriotsยทFriday, July 17, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The John Curtis Patriots' linebackers are gearing up for another dominant season in 4A. To improve their agility and reaction time, Coach Thompson recommends the following drill: "Stance and Shuffle". Set up four cones in a square formation, with the player starting in the center. On the whistle, they must drop into a three-point stance and shuffle to each corner, changing direction quickly. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include: "Fast feet, slow hands" and "Keep your weight low, stay light on your feet". This drill translates to game performance by improving the player's ability to quickly change direction and close gaps, making them more effective in pursuit and coverage.
