The LHSAA's pilot district expansion of girls flag football has created a surge in interest among Texas high school athletes. Evangel Christian Eagles, a 5A powerhouse from Shreveport, are no exception. As the inaugural 2028 season approaches, athletes like Evangel Christian's standout flag football players are now eligible for scholarships at top programs. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, will offer Power 4 status in the Big Ten Conference. Other NAIA programs, including Ottawa University, Kansas, Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also actively recruiting. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA D1 program, has yet to offer scholarships but remains a promising option.
