DeShawn Williams Commits to Texas Tech

The 4A standout defensive back chose the Red Raiders over offers from Louisiana Tech and Tulane, citing the team's aggressive 3-4 scheme as a key factor in his decision. Williams believes he can contribute immediately to the depth chart, potentially competing for a starting spot in the secondary. Academically, he is drawn to Texas Tech's strong engineering program. Williams had previously committed to Louisiana State University in 2023 but decommitted in February 2024. He attended the Red Raiders' summer camp in June, where he reportedly impressed coaches with his ball-hawking skills and agility. Williams is expected to enroll at Texas Tech in the fall of 2025.
