St. Augustine's Jalen Harris threw for 2,517 yards and 22 touchdowns last season, leading the Purple Knights to a 7-4 record in 4A. But what's equally impressive is the 17-year-old's academic prowess – he's maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout his high school career. Harris credits his parents and a strict study schedule for balancing varsity starter duties with rigorous coursework. 'I make sure to prioritize my schoolwork and get it done before practice,' he says. As a returning starter, Harris is expected to lead the Purple Knights to a strong season. He's been working on his footwork and decision-making during the team's summer camp. 'I'm trying to be more efficient with my reads and get the ball out quicker,' he says.
