The John Curtis Patriots are gearing up for another strong season in 4A River Ridge, and local flag football prospects are taking notice of the opportunities available beyond high school. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse in NAIA flag football, is offering up to 12 scholarships for the 2028 season. Keiser University, Florida, is also actively recruiting local talent for its NAIA Sun Conference program. For John Curtis flag football prospects looking to take their skills to the next level, a camp visit to either Ottawa University or Keiser University could be a crucial step in securing a scholarship. Coaches Liz and Katie Sowers are leading the charge at the University of Nebraska, which will debut its NCAA D1 flag football program in 2028. Meanwhile, UT Arlington is developing its NCAA D1 program, but scholarships have not yet been announced.
