The St. Augustine Purple Knights, a 4A program from New Orleans, officially broke ground on a $3 million facility upgrade this week. The renovation, set to be completed in time for the upcoming season, will feature state-of-the-art locker rooms, a renovated weight room and updated training facilities. The upgrade is expected to give the Purple Knights a significant recruiting edge, as well as a competitive advantage in the highly competitive Division 4A. The program has shown promise in recent years, with a 7-3 record in 2024 and a 9-1 mark in 2025. With the new facilities, head coach Michael Smith is optimistic about the team's chances in the upcoming season, saying 'This is a game-changer for our program.'
