FridayNightPulse: 'Mirror Man' Drill for Xaverian Brothers Hawks CBs

๐Ÿ“ Xaverian Brothers HawksยทThursday, July 2, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

For cornerbacks at top Div I programs like the Xaverian Brothers Hawks, developing the ability to stay in phase with receivers is crucial. The 'Mirror Man' drill is a key component of pre-season training, helping CBs to improve their reaction time and footwork. Set up a ladder on the field, with a receiver at the top. The CB starts at the bottom, with their eyes on the receiver. As the receiver moves, the CB mirrors their every step, staying in perfect sync. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the prize' and 'stay in the mirror.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing CBs to stay in phase with receivers, making it easier to read their intentions and make plays on the ball.
