Smith, a Class of 2026 prospect, cited TCU's Air Raid offense as a key factor in his decision, noting the scheme aligns with his skills and playing style. He also praised the Horned Frogs' quarterback room, stating he sees an opportunity to contribute immediately as a freshman. Academically, Smith was drawn to TCU's strong engineering program, which aligns with his interests. Smith previously held offers from several Power Five programs, including Boston College and Virginia Tech, before committing to TCU in the spring of 2026. He was also a member of the MIAA's All-State team in 2025.
