Duxbury's Own Rachel Johnson Eyes College Flag Football Opportunities
Multisport standout Rachel Johnson of the Duxbury Green Dragons is making a name for herself on the flag football circuit, with college scouts taking notice. The Division III athlete has been a force to be reckoned with in multiple sports, but her sights are now set on the inaugural NCAA Division 1 flag football season at the University of Nebraska. Coaches Liz and Katie Sowers are building a powerhouse program, and Johnson is eager to be a part of it. Meanwhile, NAIA programs like Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, are also on her radar, offering up to 12 scholarships. Johnson is encouraged by the growth of flag football and is taking concrete steps to pursue her collegiate dreams, including creating highlight tapes and reaching out to coaches. With UT Arlington's program in development, the future looks bright for Johnson and her peers.
