Unlocking the Junior Day Visit: A Guide for Top S Prospects

๐Ÿ“ Catholic Memorial EaglesยทSaturday, July 11, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

For top S prospects like yourself, junior day visits are a crucial step in the recruiting process. These visits provide an opportunity to showcase your skills in front of college coaches and get a feel for their program. So, what do coaches look for during these visits? First and foremost, they want to see your ability to read the quarterback and anticipate where the ball will be. They'll also be evaluating your footwork, agility and ability to change direction quickly. For example, if you're being asked to cover a receiver in a 3-on-1 situation, coaches will be watching to see if you can stay with the receiver and make a play on the ball. To prepare, focus on your reaction time and ability to stay in phase with the receiver. Practice drills like the 'hook-to-curl' drill, where you're asked to quickly transition from covering a hook route to a curl route.
