Eagles' Edge: RB Power Drill for Catholic Memorial's Top Talent

๐Ÿ“ Catholic Memorial EaglesยทSaturday, July 11, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Catholic Memorial's top running backs are putting in the work with a high-intensity drill designed to boost speed, agility, and power. The 'Eagles' Blast' drill involves three sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. Players start in a three-point stance, then explosively drive through a mini hurdle (set at 12 inches) and immediately change direction, planting their outside foot and accelerating through a 5-yard zone. Coaching cues include 'Drive through the hurdle like a freight train' and 'Unleash your legs, don't just lift them.' This drill translates to game performance by simulating the quick changes of direction and acceleration required in the open field. By incorporating this drill into their training, Catholic Memorial's RBs will be ready to take on the competition this fall.
