Jalen Smith Commits to TCU
Xaverian Brothers senior safety Jalen Smith has committed to play for the TCU Horned Frogs. The Class of 2026 standout chose TCU over offers from Boston College, UConn, and UMass. Smith's commitment to the Horned Frogs is a testament to the team's defensive scheme, which aligns with his aggressive playing style. The safety will look to contribute immediately, as TCU's secondary depth chart appears to be in flux. In addition to the on-field opportunity, Smith is drawn to TCU's academic program, which offers a strong business curriculum. Smith had previously considered Brown University but ultimately decided against it. He plans to enroll at TCU in January 2027 and participate in the spring semester. As a senior at Xaverian Brothers, Smith was a key member of the Hawks' secondary, totaling 65 tackles and two interceptions in 2025. He will join a talented recruiting class at TCU, which is expected to be a top contender in the Big 12 Conference.
