Structuring a Highlight Tape for College Coaches as a Tight End Prospect

๐Ÿ“ Good Counsel FalconsยทFriday, July 3, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As a tight end prospect at a WCAC program like Good Counsel, creating a standout highlight tape is crucial for catching the attention of college coaches. College coaches typically watch 2-3 minutes of a highlight tape, so keep it concise and focused on your strengths. Include a mix of passing and blocking plays to showcase your versatility. Use clear, high-quality footage and consider adding slow-motion replays to highlight your skills. For tight ends, consider including a minimum of 5-7 plays that demonstrate your ability to create separation, catch passes in traffic, and block defenders. For example, include a play where you beat a defender off the line with a speed move, followed by a play where you seal a defender with a block, allowing your quarterback to complete a pass to a receiver downfield. This structure will help you stand out and increase your chances of getting noticed by college coaches.
