Puma Power: Building Block Strength for Wise Pumas OL

๐Ÿ“ Wise PumasยทWednesday, July 8, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the Wise Pumas prepare for the upcoming 4A season, a key component of their pre-season training will be the 'Block and Pull' drill. This exercise targets the upper body, specifically the shoulders and chest, while also engaging the core. The drill consists of three sets of 8 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Players will begin in a neutral stance, then explosively drive their feet into the ground and push a weighted sled or resistance band forward, mimicking the motion of blocking a defender. As they push, they'll also pull the sled or band back towards their chest, engaging their core and maintaining balance. This drill translates to game performance by improving power and endurance, allowing Pumas OL to dominate in the trenches and control the line of scrimmage.
