Unlocking Speed and Agility for DEs: The DeMatha Catholic Stags' 'D-End Dash' Drill
This summer, DeMatha Catholic Stags defensive end prospects are putting in the work with the 'D-End Dash' drill. Designed to improve speed, agility, and reaction time, this high-intensity workout is a game-changer for any DE looking to take their game to the next level. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps: 1) A 10-yard sprint down the sideline, 2) A 180-degree cut to the opposite sideline, and 3) A 5-yard backpedal to the starting position. Coaches cue the players to 'explode off the line,' 'stay low,' and 'react quickly.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a DE's ability to chase down ballcarriers and close gaps in the defensive line. By incorporating the 'D-End Dash' into their training regimen, Stags DEs will be ready to dominate on the gridiron this fall.
