Darius Brown Commits to Kansas State
Darius Brown, a Class of 2026 running back from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland, has committed to Kansas State University. Brown chose the Wildcats over other Division I offers from the University of Maryland and the University of Virginia. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound back is expected to fit into Kansas State's high-powered offense, which features a pro-style scheme that emphasizes a strong running game. Brown's athleticism and versatility should allow him to compete for playing time early in his career. He will have the opportunity to contribute immediately in a backfield that will likely feature multiple running backs. Kansas State's academic program and strong football tradition were also major factors in Brown's decision. Brown previously committed to the University of Maryland in 2024 but decommitted in January 2025 before committing to Kansas State in July 2026.
