Hunter Martin: From Setbacks to Starting Lineup
DeMatha Catholic Stags linebacker Hunter Martin recorded 12 tackles for loss in his junior season, a WCAC-leading total that earned him a spot on the league's all-star team. The Class of 2025 standout's impressive play came after a devastating ACL injury in his sophomore year, a setback that could have derailed his football career. Instead, Martin used the time to rebuild his strength and technique, emerging as one of the top linebackers in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association's 4A classification. With his speed, agility and instincts, Martin is poised to lead the Stags' defense this fall. Scouts are watching for his ability to read the opposing offense and make plays in space, as well as his potential to develop into a dominant force in the middle of the defense.
