WR Speed and Agility Drill for WCAC Programs

As the summer heat sets in, WCAC programs like the Good Counsel Falcons are gearing up for another competitive season. To help their wide receivers stay ahead of the curve, Coach Thompson has developed a speed and agility drill that targets quickness, acceleration, and change of direction. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps each, with 30 seconds of rest in between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then explode off the line, making a 90-degree cut to the left, followed by a 180-degree spin to the right. Coaches cue players to 'keep their eyes on the cone' and 'drive through the turn.' This drill translates to game performance by improving WRs' ability to quickly separate from defenders and make sharp cuts on the field.
